How is it possible to play a Nintendo Wii on a LCD monitor?

Look at your other question where I answered:
You have two options.

You can either buy a so called VGA Box to convert AV signals to VGA. However, these are very expensive ($80 and up).

Another option is to get a TV capturing device for your desktop. Either get a USB stick as in the answer above, or get a Hauppauge WinTV card. This will cost you about $40, and you have the added benefit to watch TV on your PC.

However, to play the Wii on the monitor this way, your PC has to be running as well.
