Shouldn't they take video game hardware specs off the internet, so they can focus more on the games?

All it does is cause horrid fanboy ranting, and gives little kids an incorrect view of video game history. Back a long time ago, we had no clue what system was more powerful, we just bought a Sega Genesis if we wanted Sonic, or an NES or SNES if we wanted Mario. Now all time, little 13 year olds are arguing about video game hardware, when they don't even understand what they're reading.

The companies are fine with fanboys and console wars, it shows they have dedicated followings and doesn't detract from their sales at all, and the same fanboys would exist regardless.
