Error 13, 14, and 21 on Xbox?

I tried to softmod my Xbox using the hotswap technique. I followed all instructions, but now I have an error 13 come up when I load my Xbox. I can still play orginal games, however, but my dashboard doesn't boot up. Sometimes it shows a 14 and 21 as well. Can anyone tell me what to do to get it back to its orginal setting? I have searched a million forums, and I have tried several things, but I still haven't had success. I wanted to be able to back the games up because my son has a habit of scratching them, and I wanted to be able to make backups on the Xbox. Do I just need to get a new Xbox or can anything else be done?
It is fairly old so I don't think it would be covered anyway.

Obviously, you efed up your XBOX, and Microsoft isn't going to cover it, since you tried to mod it, so either try to fix it yourself or seek third party repairs.
