Is the Xbox 360 NXE on my hard drive or just the console?

I accidentally downloaded the NXE dashboard, and I want to return to the pre-NXE dashboard. From I've heard, is impossible to do that. I wondered if the dashboard is now a part of my drive or if it's just the console. If you are on my hard drive, only I'll throw it away and buy a new one, but if it's just the console, I can live with it. Please help me!

It is both. You can not get rid of it I'm sorry. In fact, you could get a new HD and still have the NXE or it may stay high definition and get a new console and when it gets high definition in which the NXE install the new console. NXE is installed on the console, but the installation for the NXE is embedded in your hard drive
