XBOX360 wireless receiver set up STUCK on LEFT?

I was given a xbox 360 wireless receiver for free form a worker at GAMESTOP he said he never used it. I took it home and on VISTA it worked right away plug and play. I used it for three days with an emulator and it worked great. Last night I disconnected the wireless receiver from the computer to vacuum around the PC. Today when i plugged it back in to play I found while playing that the controller is stuck on left. You can move in other directions if you fight it, but when not touching it the controller is clearly sending the "hard left signal" I have tried everything i can think of, restarting cpu, trying different controller, unplugging and plugging back in, uninstalling the windows software for it. (however i don't think i uninstalled the driver) Is there a way resolve this issue?? Any ideas are helpful

Do you have any other USB supported devices connected to your computer like a high powered mouse or keyboard or anything in that category. If so, try unplugging all of them and plug your receiver in and it should work fine. If that is not the case, try a different USB port. Hope I helped.
